Rapid International - History of Rapid


	Three deacdes ago, Bertie Pickering and Jim Lappin established Craigavon Engineering. Working from a small garage on the outskirts of Portadown, the partnership initially concentrated on servicing the needs of the agricultural sector - manufacturing link boxes for tractors along with cattle and pig trailers.
	However within the first 12 months of operating a strategic change of direction saw the shift in emphasis away from agriculture towards construction. The decision was taken to start manufacturing plant and equipment for the concrete industry - a decision that has paid off handsomely.
Today, the company, which operates under the name of Rapid International, is recognised as one of the Province's leading specialist manufacturing companies with an award winning product portfolio and sales extending to more than 20 countries around the world.
