County Armagh, Northern Ireland, 30 March 2017 – It is with very sad news that we announce the passing of our co-founder Mr. Jim Lappin (aged 76).
Jim co-founded Rapid International originally as Craigavon Engineering in 1969 alongside the late Robert (Bertie) Pickering and together they established a business that today continues to be a leading manufacturer in its industry across the globe.
Jim up until recently had still been involved in the business and he will be sadly missed by the whole Rapid family.
I hope you will join us in extending our sincere condolences to the Lappin family, including Jim’s wife Bessie, his son Mark (our current Managing Director), daughters Gillian and Allison, daughter-in-law Elaine, sons-in-law Ken and Keith, grandchildren and the whole extended Lappin family.
Will be greatly missed by the entire family circle. “The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended”
