Increased Production for O'Hora Precast

O’Hora Precast in Ballina, Co. Mayo are delighted to announce that they have doubled their concrete
production due to a new batching plant, supplied, installed and commissioned by Rapid International Ltd.

O’Hora Precast, owned by Tommy and Graham O’Hora was established in 1990 and manufactures a wide range of precast products including lintels, sills, kerbs, paving slabs, fencing posts, prestressed products and garden ornaments to name but a few.

Their new plant which is capable of producing 250m3 of high quality concrete per day includes 4x40T aggregate bins with feeders on outlets for accurate weighing, a weigh belt and incline conveyor.

Located on the mixer platform is the Rapid R1000 pan mixer, which
produces high quality concrete.

Having assessed the options, O’Hora decided upon installing the recently developed Rapid Jetwash system into the plant. This system is proving very popular in the concrete industry as it ensures a thorough 4 minute cleaning of the mixer at regular intervals throughout the day, radically reducing cleaning time, therefore cutting costs. With the elimination of manual cleaning, O’Hora have found that not only does this machine address a lot of health and safety issues but that it is also a much more
thorough clean.

The new plant is also equipped with a 60 ton silo and screw conveyor, fully automatic control system, moisture probe in the mixer floor to produce high quality concrete on a continuous basis over long periods of time.

Mr. Graham O’Hora adds, “We are delighted with the new Rapid pan mixer and batching plant. It has doubled our production, brought our quality to a very high standard and cut our working hours per day.”
