An opportunity has arisen for an experienced fabrication welder to join the team. The role will involve interpreting fabrication drawings and fabrication/ welding of various types of steel section and plate assemblies. An individual who places an emphasis on high quality levels is desired.

To be considered for this role, it is desirable that you possess:

  • Experience of welding in the heavy engineering sector.
  • A welding qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

Job Duties

Mechanical Design Engineer

Personal Description

Rapid International are recruiting an experienced, mechanical design engineer to work in our highly innovative design team. The successful candidate must be driven, with an eye for detail and must be able to integrate well in a team as well as being able to work alone.

 

Job Description

  • Designing detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models for highly innovative machinery and bespoke plants.
  • Building BOM and components lists for equipment.
  • Involved in R&D of new products and improving current products.
  • Carry out Engineering Design Calculations including FEA analysis on machinery and structures.
  • Ensuring all manuals and technical data sheets are kept up to date in line with drawings.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Hold third level education (BEng (Hons) or Similar) in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of design for manufacture/assembly.
  • Be proficient in 3D CAD (preferably Creo).
  • Be a resident of Northern Ireland.

 

Desired Criteria

  • Prior experience within a heavy engineering business
  • Good understanding of the concrete/quarrying industry

Factory Caretaker / Cleaner

 

Duties will include

  • Maintaining a clean factory and work areas.
  • Waste management, cardboard, wood and steel.
  • Cleaning the factory toilets and washroom.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the yard and moving material to maintain good access around the site.
  • Driving the van for collections/deliveries of some items.

 

The candidate should have

  • Forklift experience.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety within a factory setting.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Trailer license (preferred, not essential).
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

 

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30

Friday 08:00 to 15:30

 

Rate of Pay: Up to £9.00 per hour (depending on experience) at 39 hours per week

Goods-In Operative

 

The Role
Due to continued growth and specific expansion RAPID International are seeking to appoint an additional person to their stores department. This person’s primary focus will be on the Goods-In operation of the department, whilst also supporting other functions within the stores department.

 

Main Responsibilities

• Unloading lorries and other carriers.
• Checking goods against delivery notes and communicating variances.
• Accurately processing paperwork on ERP system.
• Labelling goods for identification.
• Correctly locating goods in stores.
• Maintain clean and tidy stores area.
• Assist with stock management, including stock counts.

 

The Person

• Work without supervision and manage workload
• Computer literate
• Manual Handling experience
• Counterbalance Fork-truck experience
• Knowledge of engineering components (desired)
• Identify areas of improvement and implement required actions

 

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30
Friday 08:00 to 15:30

Rate of Pay: £9.60 per hour at 39 hours per week
+ £20 per week attendance bonus
