Due to retirement, Rapid International Ltd is seeking to appoint a Purchasing Executive. An integral member of the Rapid team, the Purchasing Executive is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials for the operational side of the business.


Position: Purchasing Executive (Permanent, Full-Time).

Location: 96 Mullavilly Road, Tandragee, Craigavon. BT62 2LX.

Starting Salary: circa £25,000.

Closing Date: Friday 20 October 2017 at 12 noon



  • Maintain the company ordering procedure.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on quality, price, delivery and terms.
  • Visit suppliers (European travel required) to develop collaboration.
  • Assist with sourcing and pricing new materials.
  • Raise purchase orders.
  • Ensure on-time delivery is achieved.
  • Deal with purchased item quality concerns, recording faults and returning goods.
  • Matching invoices against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
  • Reduce value of stock holding, without compromising operational activity.
  • Monitor and improve re-order policy and data.
  • Assist with logistics, both inward and despatch.
  • Assist with stock figures and material financial reports.


Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of two years purchasing experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering/manufacturing sector.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Good ethics and personal integrity.
  • Ability to travel to suppliers and exhibitions (European).
